Phase106 · OS Update Issue Correlation

Do not stop at “the OS update broke it”

Why correlation and causation are separated

On iPhone, carrier settings can update separately from iOS, and a new SIM/eSIM setup may require updated carrier settings.

Android exposes OS version, security update and Google Play system update separately. Pixel software rollouts can be phased depending on device and carrier.

Therefore, timing alone is not published as proof of OS causation; reproducibility is accumulated by device, carrier, SIM, build and function.

  1. Record the prior OS/build and functions that were working.
  2. Retest the same functions under the same conditions after update.
  3. Separate carrier outage, carrier settings and app updates.
  4. Cluster only reports with comparable reproducible conditions.
  5. Upgrade evidence only after official confirmation or SolQvia real-device verification.
