For special-purpose devices such as kids phones, feature phones, routers, tablets and watches, SIM recognition, APN, voice/SMS, number-sharing services and vendor-specific features must be evaluated separately.
English technical guide: iPad Pro M5 Cellular Band Carrier Fit
This page is the English companion to the corresponding SolQvia Japan guide. It preserves the diagnostic boundary used by the Japanese article: distinguish device settings, carrier/account conditions, radio compatibility and service provisioning instead of treating them as one problem.
Recommended diagnostic order
- Identify the exact model number and sales region.
- Compare LTE and 5G bands with the target Japan carrier.
- Check physical SIM/eSIM layout and carrier provisioning requirements.
- Verify VoLTE/IMS, SMS and emergency-call support separately from bands.
- For imported devices, verify Japan regulatory/technical-conformity requirements and carrier support.
Important boundary
Do not treat a single successful check as proof of full compatibility. SIM recognition, mobile data, voice, SMS, eSIM provisioning, APN and 5G can succeed or fail independently. Preserve a known-good state before factory reset, eSIM deletion or account removal.
